NEWS RELEASE - Klondike Rd – Cape Sealing

Weather permitting, contractors are scheduled to begin cape sealing Klondike Road, from South 8th

Street to South 12th Street, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

This project is a two-step process:

Step 1: Crews will apply an oil-and-chip surface to the pavement.

Step 2: A few days later, a micro-surface treatment will be applied over the chip seal.

Drivers should expect loose gravel on the roadway between these two steps.

The project is expected to be completed by the following week. Motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists are

encouraged to seek alternate routes and should anticipate increased traffic and minor delays in the area

during construction hours.
