Yard Waste Disposal & Pickup Information

The City of Quincy contracts with Evans Recycling to provide the following yard waste services:
-Yard Waste Disposal Site
-Curbside Yard Waste Pickup


Yard Waste Disposal Site

Location: 711 West Radio Road, Quincy, IL

The site is generally open from early spring through late fall, depending on weather conditions.

Monday–Sunday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Winter Hours

November 1 – November 30

  • Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Sunday: Closed

December 1 – December 12

  • Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Sunday: Closed

Residential yard waste pickup ends December 12th.

City of Quincy property owners must show proof of address when entering the site.


Directions to the Site

  • Travel south on Gardner Expressway
  • Turn right onto Radio Road
  • Follow Radio Road, then turn right into Evans Recycling

Curbside Yard Waste Pickup

Curbside yard waste is collected weekly, on the same day as regular garbage collection. Pickup does occur on holidays.

  • First day for 2026: To be determined (typically mid-March)
  • Final day for 2025: Friday, December 12th

How to Prepare Yard Waste

Trash, garbage, or recyclables must NOT be placed in yard waste bags.

1. Bundled Branches

  • Branches and sticks tied into bundles
  • Max size: 2" diameter and 4' length

2. Biodegradable Paper Bags

  • Leaves, grass, small branches, and sticks allowed
  • No plastic bags permitted
  • Max weight: 40 lbs

3. Marked Reusable Containers

  • Outdoor garbage cans or reusable containers allowed
  • Must display a 2-inch contrasting stripe placed 12 inches from the top
  • 55-gallon drums are not allowed

Additional Information

Wood Chips

  • $5 per loaded scoop (fills a short-bed pickup)
  • Free if self-loaded
  • No residency requirement
