The Human Resources Department serves as a business partner to the Mayor, Department Heads and Council Members helping meet the city's human resource needs. The City of Quincy employees are its most important resource and it is the HR Department's responsibility for coordinating the selection, hiring, evaluation, promotion, training, and development of qualified personnel.
The HR Department oversees the administration of the city's human resources and risk management; providing employee benefit programs, compensation and budget administration, liability coverage, and legal compliance. Develops job descriptions and administers City employment practices and policies, including support to all departments involved with the five (5) collective bargaining agreements.
Risk Management, a division of HR, centers on the protection of city employees and property. City employees are routinely trained on various workplace safety issues. The goal of Risk Management is to educate City employees of possible hazards in the workplace and provide a safe work environment. We encourage the communication of safety concerns and promote safe work practices.
