The City Clerk is required to attend all meetings of the City Council and to keep a full account of its proceedings. In addition to the record of ordinances and other records as required by State Statute, the Clerk also maintains a record of licenses and permits issued by the office. Deadline for submitting material to the City Clerk's Office for the City Council agenda, including written permission to address the City Council, is 11 :00 a.m. on Friday. This is a requirement of the Open Meetings Act.

Meeting minutes are available after the City Council has approved their contents. You may view the approved Minutes which have been published on this site by corresponding date.

The Clerk's office also maintains an up to date copy of the Quincy Municipal Code, which is also located on the city's web site.

The City Clerk is also the Ex-Officio Town Clerk and co-signs all Quincy Township checks, payroll and bills.

Several licenses are issued from the City Clerk's Office. The office also issues sport hunting and fishing licenses along with commercial fishing tags for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
