Repair of a broken watermain will require an interruption in water service today until approximately 7:00 PM for customers on Gardendale Drive.Once service has been restored, a boil order will be in effect.
Please be advised of the following road closure. Immediately Thursday, April 23rd, 2026, from now until further notice, State Street will be closed between S. 24th and S. 30th for a water main repair. Motorists are reminded to take extra caution while driving near work zones and are encouraged to use an alternate travel route when possible.
As a public service, the Quincy Fire Department offers free tours of its stations and trucks, as well as provides speakers who will visit your club or school and present information about fire safety. We are also pleased to offer special events such as a visit from the “Children’s Safety House” to your school. We may under many circumstances provide a fire truck for your parade or charity event! Requesting a Tour or Speaker: We require that you make a reservation, preferably at least two weeks in advance. Tours are given by on-duty firefighters who may be subject to calls. We cannot guarantee that your tour will not be interrupted or cut short. All children’s groups must be escorted by responsible adult(s).We request that group size be limited to 40 people. Tours may be scheduled on any day of the week between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, however any reservation is subject to QFD's schedule constraints.
The Children’s Safety House: This is a specially built mobile house that travels to schools. In it children are taught essential survival and escape skills in the event of a fire in the home.This wonderful and educational program is available to schools and children’s organizations within a 50-mile radius of Quincy.
