Quincy Sports Commission

The Quincy Sports Commission, a city-related advisory group, was formed in July 2025 with a mission of creating and improving a local sports environment accessible to all children in Quincy and identify opportunities for growth in sports tourism. It was created to:

• Assess community needs for sports and recreation facilities — including what already exists and what might be needed in the future. 
• Explore options for a potential regional sports complex — including evaluating whether to build new facilities or make better use of current ones. 
• Study potential benefits such as increased sports tourism — the idea being that tournaments and large events can bring visitors, hotel stays, restaurant spending, and economic activity to Quincy. 
• Recommend next steps to city leaders — including decisions about site selection, design considerations, funding options, and project feasibility.
