Please be advised of the following road closure. Immediately Thursday, April 23rd, 2026, from now until further notice, State Street will be closed between S. 24th and S. 30th for a water main repair. Motorists are reminded to take extra caution while driving near work zones and are encouraged to use an alternate travel route when possible.
BOILING WATER NO LONGER REQUIRED:Repair of a broken water main required an interruption in water service on May 7, 2026 in the following area:• North 13th Street, Locust Street to Sycamore StreetThe necessary flushing and purification verification steps have been completed.Water samples have been confirmed to be free of coliform bacteria. You may return to normal use of your water service.
The commission hereby created shall consist of 16 members. Members shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the City Council. One member shall be the Mayor or a city official designated by the Mayor. Two members shall be members of the City Council. Eight members, to be known as “community partner members,” shall represent the Quincy Area Convention and Visitor Bureau, the Quincy Park District, The District, the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce, the Great River Economic Development Foundation, the Quincy Business and Technology Center, the Oakley-Lindsay Center and the Adams County Board. The remaining five members, to be known as “at-large members,” shall represent the business community. All commission members shall be appointed for terms of three years or until their successors are duly appointed and qualified. The membership shall elect one member to be the chairman and one member to be the secretary of the commission.
The commission shall have the powers and duties to make recommendations to the City Council in the implementation of the Quincy Next Strategic Plan in the following areas:
The commission shall meet bi-annually unless a meeting is called by the chair.
