Immediately Thursday, April 23rd, 2026, from now until further notice, State Street will be closed between S. 24th and S. 30th for a water main repair. Motorists are reminded to take extra caution while driving near work zones and are encouraged to use an alternate travel route when possible.
BOILING WATER NO LONGER REQUIRED:Repair of a broken water main required an interruption in water service on May 7, 2026 in the following area:• North 13th Street, Locust Street to Sycamore StreetThe necessary flushing and purification verification steps have been completed.Water samples have been confirmed to be free of coliform bacteria. You may return to normal use of your water service.
Created May 14, 1984. The committee shall consist of five citizens and two Aldermen, one from each political party. All members shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. Appointments are for three-year terms. The Director of the Department of Planning and Development shall serve as an ex-officio, non-voting member.
