Quincy Civic Center Authority

The Quincy Metropolitan Exposition Auditorium and Office Building Authority Board is a local governmental authority created to own, manage, maintain and promote major public facilities that support conventions, large events, trade shows, meetings, entertainment and business activity in Quincy. Key duties and responsibilities are:

  • Ownership and long-term stewardship of the Quincy Civic Center / Expo Center, convention and exposition halls and office or business facilities included in the authority charter.
  • Oversight of day-to-day operations, including:
    • Setting policies and procedures for bookings, rentals, and event operations
    • Approving contracts with vendors, promoters, service providers, and event organizers
  • Long-term planning to ensure the facilities remain competitive with comparable venues and upgraded with necessary technology or structural improvements
  • Financial oversight, including approval of budgets, expenditures and financial reports, and overseeing revenue streams (rental fees, event fees, concessions)
  • Promoting usage of the facilities to regional event planners and organizations and supporting events that bring visitors, hotel stays and economic activity to Quincy.

The membership of the authority consists of 1 alderman and 6 citizens.

Meeting Schedule

Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month at noon at the Oakley Lindsay Civic Center, 300 Civic Center Plaza.
