Operations

The Department of General Operations plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth, day-to-day functioning of the City of Quincy. Working in coordination with the Mayor and City Council, the department supports the delivery of essential services that directly impact residents, businesses, and visitors.

More than 300 dedicated city employees work across various divisions to maintain city infrastructure, provide public transportation, ensure public safety, manage facilities, and uphold community standards.

Dan Brink
Director of Operations

 Dan Brink brings extensive experience in public service and operational leadership to his role as Director of Operations. He served two terms as alderman for Quincy’s 6th Ward and has held a variety of positions in juvenile justice, probation, facility management, and banking security. In 2019, he was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Illinois Prisoner Review Board.


As Director of Operations, Dan oversees:

  • Quincy Transit Lines

  • Quincy Regional Airport

  • City inspections

  • Safety and Security Department (newly formed)

He is focused on improving cross-department collaboration, promoting operational efficiency, and ensuring effective, cost-conscious services for residents.
