The Communications Department serves as the official voice of the City of Quincy. We are committed to delivering timely, accurate, and transparent information to residents, businesses, visitors, and media partners. Our mission is to build trust, promote civic engagement, and ensure the public stays informed about city services, programs, and initiatives.

Our team oversees all aspects of public communication on behalf of the City, working closely with city leadership, departments, and community partners to maintain a consistent and professional voice across all platforms.

What We Do

Media Relations
We serve as the primary point of contact for journalists and news outlets. Our responsibilities include:
    -
Responding to media inquiries and interview requests
    -Issuing press releases and official statements

Coordinating press conferences and media events
    -
Providing timely updates during emergencies and public safety incidents

Public Information & Outreach
    -We keep the public informed about city services, programs, events, and policies by:
    -Managing official social media channels
    -Publishing city newsletters and announcements
    -Creating public service campaigns
    -Coordinating outreach efforts with local organizations and community groups


Digital Communications & Content
Our team develops and maintains digital content to ensure easy access to city information:
    -Managing the city’s website and digital platforms
    -Producing video and multimedia content
    -Creating graphics and promotional materials
    -Supporting livestreams of public meetings and special events


Internal Communications
We work with city departments to ensure employees are informed and engaged:
    -Sharing internal updates and announcements
    -Managing employee newsletters and communications tools
    -Supporting department-specific campaigns and initiatives


Branding & Visual Identity
We ensure that all city communications maintain a consistent and professional appearance by:
    -Managing the city’s brand guidelines
    -Designing official logos, templates, and signage
    -Reviewing and approving public-facing materials from departments


Emergency Communications
During critical incidents, we coordinate real-time communications to inform and protect the public. This includes:
    -Issuing alerts through the city’s emergency notification system
    -Coordinating messaging with emergency services and state agencies
    -Managing crisis communications and press briefings
