UPDATE: Emergency Boil Order Issued for All Water Users in City of Quincy
BOIL ORDER UPDATE, 8:15 PM
Following further inspection of the site, the boil order has been expanded to include all water users in the City of Quincy.
This means all Quincy residents should boil water for at least 3 minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or food preparation until further notice.
BOILER ORDER UPDATE, 7:00 PM
The City of Quincy Water Department has issued an emergency boil order for residents and businesses west of 8th Street following a power outage at a pump station earlier today.
Power is currently being restored, and crews are working to bring the system back to normal operation. As a precaution, the boil order remains in effect until water samples can be tested to ensure water quality and safety.
Residents are advised to boil all water for drinking, cooking, and food preparation for at least five minutes before use. The boil order will remain in effect until further notice.
