2021 Firefighter of the Year
Firefighter Tyler Staicoff

This year’s Firefighter of the Year is a 5 year member of the department. He has been a positive contributor to the department and continues to be more involved every year. He is not a person that seeks the limelight but it shows that he thoroughly enjoys being an active member of the department. He is always willing to assist with any opportunity and actively seeks training courses to improve his skills.
He is certified as a Firefighter II, Fire Apparatus Engineer, EMT, Haz-Mat Operations and Airport Rescue Firefighter. He serves on our Public Education Team and assist with our Explorer Post program. He has been recognized twice this year; once as a member of the crew of the month and once as an employee of the month.
Our firefighter of the year took the opportunity to take over this year’s Citizen’s Fire Academy. I believe his employee of the month nomination describes his character perfectly.
This firefighter dedicated many hours making sure everyone that registered was contacted and informed of all the information they needed prior to the first night. He ensured all medical forms were completed, all supplies were ordered, and all details were taken care of in order for the class to be a success and portray the high level of detail that the public expects. Even more impressive was his leadership abilities during the hands-on portions of the class. He ensured that everyone knew what was going to happen, that everyone was prepared, and that all safety rules were followed. His leadership ensured that all 9 class participants and the QFD Instructors were able to accomplish the tasks for each class and get out on time each night.
It is in recognition of all of his hard work and dedication to the betterment of himself and the department; we are proud to announce that this year’s Firefighter of the Year is Firefighter Tyler Staicoff.
