ROUTES

The fixed routes are designed to provide optimum service to people who do not have their own transportation. The fixed routes serve eight areas of the city. (see All Routes map)

The bus routes operate from 6:00 a.m. to 6:20 p.m. The Red Routes begin at 6:00 a.m. from 7th and Jersey. The Yellow Routes start at 6:15 a.m. with the Baldwin beginning at K-Mart and the Walton beginning at 18th and Chestnut. The Green Routes start at 6:15 a.m. with the Broadway beginning at 18th and Chestnut and the State beginning at Good Samaritan Home. Both Blue Route buses start at K-Mart at 6:12 a.m.

The Red, Green and Yellow routes leave 7th and Jersey on the hour and half hour. The Blue routes are one-hour routes and leave K-Mart at 12 minutes after the hour with the Blue South Bus (22nd Harrison) arriving at the HyVee Plaza on Harrison at 15 minutes to the hour and the Blue North Bus reaching 16th and Locust at 13 minutes to the hour.

RED ROUTE SCHEDULES

Both red routes leave seventh and Jersey at 6:00 a.m. and run complete routes throughout the day.

ROUTE #1 RED ROUTE (See Map)

18th & Locust –Veterans Home: Leave 7th & Jersey, North on 7th to Maine, West to 5th, North to Sycamore, East to 10th, North to Locust, East to 12th, South to Spruce, East to 18th, North to Locust, West to 12th, North to Veterans Home Entrance, thru Veterans Home (3 stops) & out thru Locust Street entrance, West to 5th, South on 5th to Spring, east to 6th, South to Broadway, west to Lampe entrance, Lampe to 5th, South to Maine, East to 8th, South to Jersey, West to transfer point…

The Veterans Home will leave 7th and Jersey and proceed following the normal route to 5th and Broadway where the bus will end its route. If it has passengers, it will continue north on 5th Street to Locust and return to the bus barn. It will not pick up passengers between 5th and Broadway and 5th and Locust.

Indian Mounds: Leave 7th & Jersey, West to 4th, North to Maine, West to 3rd, South to York, east to 4th, South to State, East to 8th, South to Washington, West to 5th, South to Jefferson, east to 6th, South to Adams, West to 5th, South to Harrison, East to 8th, South to R.J. Peters Drive, East to west entrance of HyVee Plaza, thru plaza, West to 12th, North to Jackson, West to 8th, North to Jersey, West to transfer point…

At 6:00 p.m. the Indian Mounds will leave 7th and Jersey and follow its regular route until it reaches 8th and State. If the bus has no passengers, the driver will end his route and return to the bus barn. If there are passengers, the driver may take a direct route to the nearest bus stop and drop them off. The driver will not pick up any additional passengers.

YELLOW ROUTE SCHEDULES

Both Yellow routes will start at 6:15 a.m. in the middle of their routes. Walton will begin at 20th and Chestnut and the Baldwin will begin at K-Mart. At 6:00 p.m. the Walton will follow its normal route until 18th and Chestnut. It will turn north and return to the bus barn. The Baldwin will follow its normal route to 18th and Maine and if it has no passengers going further, it will return to the bus barn. If there are passengers it will take them as far as the end of its route, which is K-Mart.

Walton: Leaves 7th & Jersey, North to Maine, East to 8th, North to Chestnut, East to 28th Street, North to Cedar, West to 24th, North to Locust, West to 22nd, South to Chestnut, West to 8th, South to Jersey, West to transfer point…

Baldwin: Leaves 7th & Jersey, North to Maine, East on Maine to 36th, North to Broadway, East to east entrance to K-Mart, thru K-Mart to middle drive of K-Mart, exit to Broadway, West to east entrance to Mall, thru Mall to 32nd street entrance (Bus stops at Krieger’s and Bergner’s,), West to County Market/Osco entrance, thru shopping area and exit onto Broadway, West to 24th, South to Maine, West to 8th and South to Jersey, West to transfer Point…

GREEN ROUTE SCHEDULES

The Green Routes begin at 6:15 a.m. The Broadway starts at 20th and Chestnut and the State begins at 18th and State. At 6:00 p.m. the Broadway will follow its normal route to 5th and Broadway. It will return to the bus barn by following Broadway to 18th. The State will follow its normal route to 18th and State and return to the bus barn using 18th Street.

Broadway: Leave 7th & Jersey, North to Maine, West to 5th, North to Broadway, East to 18th Street, North to Chestnut, East to 20th, South to College, East to 22nd, North to Elm, East to 24th, South to College, East to 30th, South to Oak, West to 25th, South to Spring, West to 24th, South to Broadway, West to 8th Street, South to Jersey, West to transfer point…

(XX) At 6:45. 7:15, 7:45, 8:15 A.M., 4:15, 5:15 AND 5:45 p.m. bus goes north to Quincy Development Center, thru circle drive to 30th, South to Oak, and resumes route.

State: Leaves 7th & Jersey, South to York, East to 8th, South to State, East to22nd, South to Harrison West to Good Samaritan Home, thru home, West to HyVee Plaza, thru plaza, East on Harrison to 16th, North to Adams, West to 20th, North to Jefferson, West to 10th, South to Adams, East to 12th, North to State, West to 8th, North to Jersey, West to transfer point…

BLUE ROUTE SCHEDULES

Both Blue buses leave K-Mart at approximately 6:15 a.m. They normally do not transport any passengers after 6:00 p.m.

54th & Broadway: Leave K-Mart, North to Columbus Road, East to 48th, South to CRC entrance, thru CRC to 48th, South to Oak, East to Wal-Mart, thru Wal-Mart to 52nd South to Broadway, West to K’s Merchandise, thru K’s to 48th, South to Maine West to Transitions, thru circle drive to Maine, West to 33rd, North to Broadway, West to 30th, North to Chestnut, West to 18th, North to Kochs Lane, West to 12th, South to Seminary Road, East to 16th, South to Locust, East to 30th Street, South to Quincy Development Center South entrance, thru circle drive to 30th, North to Wismann Lane, East to 36th, South to Broadway, East to east entrance to K-Mart, thru K-Mart to transfer point in front of K-Mart…

(XX) At 6:50 a.m., 7:50 a.m., and 4:50 p.m. Bus will go east on Wismann Lane to 43rd Street, South to Denman Laundry, thru parking lot to 43rd, North to Wismann Lane, West to 42nd Street, north on 42nd to north entrance to I.S.S. parking lot, turnaround in entrance to parking lot and exit to 42nd Street, South to Wismann Lane, West to 36th Street and resume route.

22nd Harrison: Leave K-Mart, go East to Steak & Shake drive to 38th Street intersection, go east to Prairie Crossing entrance, turn right and go passed Best Buy, go in front of Lowe’s and exit back to Broadway, West to 54th, South on 54th to Maine, West to Transitions, go thru circle drive to Maine, East on Maine to 48th, South on 48th to JWCC, thru JWCC to 48th, North to 48th, West to 36th, South on 36th to (*) Harrison, West to 24th, South to Cherry Lane, West to 12th Street, North to Harrison, East to HyVee Plaza, thru plaza to Harrison, East to 24th, North to State, East to Country Club Heights, thru Country Club Heights to State, East to 36th, North to West entrance to Quincy Commons, thru Quincy Commons to 38th Street intersection, North to K-Mart, West to transfer point in front of K-Mart…

(*) While going South on 36th, Driver will check Curtis Creek and Harvest Hills Apartments for Blue Signal Light that indicates there are people to be transported…

Both Buses will leave at 7:45 a.m. from 7th and Jersey.

North Route: Bus will leave 7th & Jersey; go north to Maine, west to 5th, north to Broadway. East on Broadway to 48th Street, north to Oak, east to Wal-Mart, thru Wal-Mart to 52nd, south to Broadway, west to K-Mart, thru K-Mart to Broadway, west to Mall, thru Mall, west to 25th & Broadway, north to Spring, west to 24th, south to Broadway, west 10th, north to Chestnut, east to 18th, north to Kochs Lane, west to 12th, south to Seminary Road, east to 16th, south to Locust, west to 12th, north to Veterans Home entrance, thru Veterans Home to 8th & Locust, west to 5th, south on 5th to Spring, east to 6th, south to Broadway, west to Lampe Hi-Rise, thru Lampe to 5th, south to Maine, east to 8th Street, south to 7th west to transfer Point….(@15-20 min to Wal-Mart, 20-25 to K-Mart).

South Route: Bus will leave 7th and jersey, go to 7th & York, turn left to 8th & York, right to 8th & Washington, right to 5th & Washington, left to 5th & Harrison, left to 8th & Harrison, left to 8th & Jackson, right to 12th street, right to Harrison, left thru HyVee to 22nd & Harrison (thru Good Samaritan), go west to 24th Street, north to State, east on State to Country Club Heights, thru CCH back to State, east to 36th Street, South thru Harvest Hills and Curtis Creek Apts. North to Quincy Commons, thru Commons to 38th Broadway, east to Prairie Crossing, thru Prairie Crossing back to 61st and Broadway, West to 52nd Street, North to Wal-Mart entrance, thru Wal-Mart back to 52nd Street, West to 48th & Oak, South to Broadway, west to K-Mart, west through Mall to 24th & Broadway, South to Maine, west to 8th and South to Jersey and west to transfer point…(@40 min to Wal-Mart & 45 to K-Mart).
