Public Safety

The Quincy Public Safety Group includes the Fire Department, Police Department and 911 Dispatch Center.  The Police Department provides residents with a high level of public safety services including general patrol activities, as well as traffic control.  The Police Department also conducts a Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program for children attending all Quincy elementary schools.

Quincy Fire Department is capable of providing 24-hour a day fire protection and water rescue service for all residents. This response capability is achieved through around-the-clock staffing of 69.   The Fire Department has five (5) stations strategically located within the City of Quincy.  

The Quincy/Adams County 9-1-1 Communications Center is a consolidated dispatch center. The Center employs 19 personnel and is the county's only Public Safety Answering Point. The Center dispatches for the Quincy Police Department, Quincy Fire Department, Adams County Sheriff’s Department, Adams County Ambulance Service, and all rural police and fire departments in Adams County.

For non-emergency situations in Quincy or Adams County, such as noisy neighbors, loud parties, stolen hubcaps, lost pets, dogs barking, etc. dial 222-9360.

Anyone reporting fire or smoke, crimes in progress, fights or weapons displayed, please call 9-1-1.
