The City of Quincy has launched a program to help provide residents with some relief from the high cost of prescription medications. Through the program, sponsored by the National League of Cities (NLC), the city is making free prescription discount cards available to city residents. The discount cards offer city residents an average of 23 percent savings off the retail price of prescription medications. The NLC Prescription Discount Card can be used by all residents of Quincy and has no restrictions based on age, income level or existing health coverage. The card benefits not only those without insurance, but can also be used by underinsured residents to obtain prescriptions that are excluded from health benefit plans. The card can be used at approximately 11 pharmacies around the city, as well as at more than 60,000 participating retail pharmacies across the country. Program Benefits
For information on obtaining a free NLC Prescription Discount Card, or for a listing of local participating pharmacies, please use the links near the top of this page. The NLC Prescription Discount Card Program is sponsored by the National League of Cities and administered by CVS Caremark. This program is being offered at no expense to the City of Quincy or its taxpayers.
Additional Information This is not insurance. Savings are only available at participating pharmacies. Savings may vary by drug and by pharmacy. By using this card, residents agree to pay the entire prescription cost less any applicable discount. All major pharmacy chains and most local independent pharmacies participate in this discount card network. Residents are not encouraged or incentivized to use CVS pharmacies over any other chain or independent pharmacy.
