City of Quincy Animal Shelter

The City of Quincy Animal Shelter is now located at 3910 Wismann Lane.  The sheltering services are contracted with the Western Illinois Veterinary Clinic at this location.

Hours of Operation

If you suspect that your animal has been lost or impounded by the City of Quincy Animal Control Officers you can contact the shelter staff by calling 222-2133. The hours of operation are:

Monday –Friday ............................. 1:00PM – 4:00PM
Saturday ......................................... 10:00AM – 12:00PM (Noon)
Sunday and Holidays ....................... Closed

If an animal has been impounded and taken to the City of Quincy Animal Shelter the owners will have to pay the following fees:

Altered Animals (Spayed or Neutered)

$  5.00 Impoundment Fee
$ 10.00 Boarding Fee Per Day

Unaltered Animals

$20.00 Impoundment Fee
$ 10.00 Boarding Fee Per Day (excluding the initial day of impoundment)

* A $15.00 refund will be given if the animal is altered within 60 days.

* The impoundment fee shall be increased by $5.00 each time the same
animal is impounded for running at large within a year.

* Each owner shall provide proof of current rabies vaccination or the
animal will be vaccinated at the time of pickup for a fee of $13.00.

No animal will be released without a rabies vaccination.
