City of Quincy Animal Shelter

The City of Quincy Animal Shelter is now located at 1800 North 24th Street. The sheltering services are contracted with the Katherine Road Animal Hospital.

Hours of Operation

If you suspect that your animal has been lost or impounded by the City of Quincy Animal Control Officers you can contact the shelter staff by calling 217-277-8000. The hours of operation are:

Monday - Friday 12:30 PM - 5:30 PM
Saturday 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Sunday Closed

Fee Schedule
(City of Quincy Ordinance 22.502)

If an animal has been impounded and taken to the City of Quincy Animal Shelter the owners will have to pay the following fees when reclaiming them:

Altered Animals (Spayed or Neutered)
$ 10.00 Impoundment Fee
$ 10.00 Boarding Fee Per Night
 
Unaltered Animals
$ 25.00 Impoundment Fee
$ 10.00 Boarding Fee Per Night
 
A $15.00 refund will be given if the animal is altered within 60 days.

Any owner or other person reclaiming a dog or cat impounded for a violation of Section 22.111 for a second time in any twelve (12) month period shall pay an impoundment fee of $20. The impoundment fees stated above shall be increased by twice the amount of the impound fee last assessed for each instance in any twelve (12) month period that the same animal is impounded for a violation of Section 22.111.

Each owner shall provide proof of current rabies vaccination or the animal will be vaccinated at the time of pickup for a fee.

No animal will be released without a rabies vaccination.
