Single Family, Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation (SFOOR) Program

Many of Quincy’s low-income homeowners are faced with the tough choice of making necessary repairs or fulfilling their other financial obligations. Oftentimes, repairs to the roof, windows, plumbing, heating and electrical systems prove to be too costly and the home falls into a deteriorated state.

To help solve this problem SFOOR program dollars are available to selected SFOOR grantees who have household incomes below 80% of the area median income. Funds would be used for the costs of repairs or improvements necessary to meet codes, Section 8 standards and IDHA property standards. Neighborhoods targeted for improvements are chosen annually and a qualification process which includes income surveys and home inspection is conducted during the summer months proceeding fall construction.

We believe these efforts will provide valuable assistance to those homeowners who wish to improve their homes as well as improve our neighborhoods.
