The annual City Wide Cleanup has
been scheduled for Saturday, September 25, 2010. The
event will take place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Front
and Delaware.
The cleanup is open only to Quincy residents.
Participants should be prepared to show
identification to prove they live in the city.
Following is a list of items that will not be
accepted at the cleanup:
- Free
Flowing Liquid: Waste Oil, Motor Oil, Antifreeze,
Transmission Fluids, Brake Fluids, Fuel,
Paint, Stains, Finishes (including enamel,
oil and latex based), Thinners, Turpentines.

- Poison:
Drain Cleaners, Disinfectants, Toilet
Cleaners, Insecticides, Pesticides, Flea
Collars & Sprays, Roach & Ant Killers, Floor
or Furniture Polish, Bleach, Ammonia & Ammonia-based
Cleaners, Abrasive Cleaners, Mothballs.

- Yard
Waste: Grass, Grass Clippings, Weeds, Garden
Clippings, Brush, Tree Limbs, Leaves,
Stumps, Branches, Bushes, Shrubs, Dead
Plants.

- Appliance or White Good Still
Containing Freon: Refrigerators,
Freezers, Air Conditioners,
Dehumidifiers, Water Coolers.

- Batteries: Car, Truck, Tractor &
Equipment Batteries, Computer Back-Up
Batteries, Small Batteries (AAA, AA, C, D, 6
Volt, 9 Volt).

- Medical
Waste: Sharps, Needles, Human Blood,
Blood Products, Human Waste & Waste
Products, Blood Soaked Material, Empty or
Full Red Bags Used for Medical Waste.

- Tires:
Car, Truck, Tractor, Lawn Mower, Off-Road Tires.

- Creosoted
Treated Wood: Railroad Ties, Telephone
or Electrical Poles, Treated Lumber.
|
- Fuel
Tanks: Automobile, Truck, Tractor,
Mower, BBQ Grills, Liquid Petroleum.
|
- Electrical Equipment or Components:
Televisions, Computers, Computer Monitors,
Printers, Scanners, Copiers, Fax Machines,
Cellular Telephones, Stereos & Stereo
Components, Digital Video Players &
Recorders, Compact Disc Players, Video
Cassette Players.

- Any Type of Material or Item That
Could Injure Our Employees, Damage Our
Equipment or Harm the Environment.

Allied Waste Services of Quincy hereby reserves the
right to add items to this list based on new
regulations or guidelines as needed and required. In
addition, we also reserve the right to not collect
any item listed or not that we deem a hazard to our
employees, the public, our equipment or the
environment.
