The Census is a count of everyone residing in the United States, conducted every ten years. With only 10 questions, the 2010 Census questionnaire takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. The 2010 Census is important for three reasons:
The data collected by the U.S. Census Bureau is confidential. This data is used to produce statistics. Your answers cannot be used against you by any government agency or court. The confidentiality of all your information is protected by the U.S. Code (Title 13) and violating this law is a crime with severe penalties. In addition, other federal laws, including the Confidential Statistical Efficiency Act and the Privacy Act reinforce these protections. The following information is being provided for those residents who may have questions regarding the 2010 Census. 2010 Census: Open Your Door! (6/1/2010) 2010 Census: March to the Mailbox in April!
