The Quincy Regional Barge Dock is owned and operated by the City of Quincy
and is available to serve the needs of business and industry in Illinois,
Missouri and Iowa. The barge dock is located on the Mississippi River at mile 326 in Lock &
Dam Pool 21, and is the northern most pool open all winter.
The Quincy area is served by numerous state, regional and inter-state
highways including I-72, US-36 and US-61. Quincy is the home of over
fifteen trucking companies including local, regional and nation-wide
carriers. Quincy also owns and operates the Quincy Regional Airport,
Baldwin Field. Baldwin Field is a full service airport with regularly
scheduled commercial flights, charter service, flight instruction and a
full service fixed base operation. Rail service is provided by the
Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.
The Quincy Regional Barge Dock has the capacity to load or unload two
barges at one time. Businesses and industries using the facility contract
with a private loader of their choice, a list of qualified loaders is
available upon request.
